DELANO Kindred

The DELANO Kindred is a Society, incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to perpetuate the memory and genealogy of the ancestors and descendants of PHILIPPE DE LA NOYE, the progenitor of most DELANOs in the Americas, who arrived at Plymouth in 1621 on the FORTUNE.

The 'Fortune, 1621'

The 55 ton Ship the Fortune
arrived Plimoth Plantation on 11 November, 1621

Among the first arrivals "these lusty yonge men",
was a nineteen year old boy,
Philippe de la Noye

The Kindred holds an annual reunion and publishes a tri-annual newsletter, the "Bonnes Nouvelles" (Good Tidings). There is also a mailing list (DELIST) for members of the Delano Kindred, and others interested in Delano family history.

Numerous resources, including the recently published "Philippe Delano of the Fortune 1621 and His Descendants for Four Generations" by Muriel Curtis Cushing are available directly from the Kindred, as are a limited number of photo-reproductions of the "GHAAHD". Please see publications for more information.
